Rookies

Uncle Mike gave me these rookie cards of Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds. According to Beckett Magazine the Griffey card costs $40 and the Bonds card costs $40.

Future Star

Stephen Strasburg did not pitch a lot of games due to injury, but when he did pitch he was hard to hit against. With his 100 M.P.H. fastball and curve ball much like a Brad Lidge slider. Having not many games pitched he almost went to the all-star game. His baseball card, everyone is trying to find. In fact it is one of the hardest baseball cards to get. (Unless you buy the Topps 2010 Complete Set like I did.)

Nice Moves

Ruben Amaro ( Phillies GM) has made some nice moves for the Phillies. First he passed on trading for Roy Halladay and made a better trade for Cliff Lee who led them to the to the World Series. In that same year he picked up Pedro Martinez. In the off-season the Phillies traded Lee for Roy Halladay. Halladay went on to pitch TWO no-hitters including a perfect game. In the next off-season Ruben got Cliff Lee back. Here is a card of Ruben Amaro when he played for the Phillies. I got it for 50 cents in Avalon.

The Best Kitchen Table

My kitchen table did not have food on it, it had CARDS! I organized the piles. The
piles were: Eagles, 76ers, Phillies, cards I bought from Avalon, Patriots, Red Sox, and Oklahoma football. There is also a box of Panini basketball cards and the 2010 Topps complete set with Phillies bonus cards.

The Big Phour

When everyone knew Cliff Lee was going to the Yankees he went to the Phillies. The Phillies
now have a big four: Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels. In the 2010 Topps complete set they have the big four all in Phillies jerseys accept for Roy Oswalt, who was traded from the Astros at the end of the 2010 season.

New Teams

When you buy Panini Threads at Target the players on new teams pose in their new team jersey, such as this Amar'e Stoudemire card above.

Welcome!

Hi! I just started this blog on sports cards. I hope you will enjoy it! This first picture is of Dom Brown of the Phillies. I bought a jumbo pack (12 cards for $4.99) of 2010 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects at Target. I can't believe I got him! He is one of my favorite Phillies.
