Christmas Eve Plates & Patches

I had a Plates & Patches box break today, Christmas Eve. The cards are above. My Favorite is the Adrian Peterson jersey. I also like the Riley Cooper and Vernon Davis cards. Also, I got a Dez Bryant redemption.

Topps Update

This is a nice series that came out about 2 weeks ago. I like it because it has the deadline trade players in there new uniforms. Take a look.

You can't get any better than a Hunter Pence Phillies card. It was the second to last card in the pack.

Cool Stickers

NBA Stickers came out. ( Well a long time ago.) I am getting caught up on unfinised posts today.

Evan Turner, John Wall and 2010 NBA finals stickers are good ones in a pack.

A nice Hakeem " the dream" Olajuwon sticker auto/jersey numbered 6/10. I love getting hits of Hall of Famers!

Greg Monroe/Terrico White dual jersey numbered 34/99.

Evan Turner Rookie Recruits auto numbered 166/299. Evan Turner is one of my favorite players. It looks like he signed it on some sort of foam. That means Evan Turner held this card in his hand!

Paul Pierce base numbered 300/399.

Thaddeus Young numbered 30/399. Any Sixers I'll take,even if it's a base numbered to 399!

 

This was a GREAT box break! The Hakeem and the Evan Turner were my favorites!

NFL Lockout over! SCORE!

The NFL Lockout is over! But there still would be football cards even if we missed 20 straight seasons. By then new people would be at the meetings. These Score cards are cool because the pictures are from the NFL Rookie Premiere which features the top rookies in their NFL uniforms. There were no Eagles at the Rookie Premiere!

These cards I got back to back. One DeMarco Murray "Hot Rookies" insert and one DeMarco Murray base card. DeMarco Murray is from Oklahoma the Fiesta Bowl Champions.

Here is Cam Newton the 1st pick in the NFL draft by the Panthers from Auburn and Christan Ponder the 12th pick in the Draft by the Vikings from Florida State. Ponder's card is a "Hot Rookies" card. What a Score!

Rising Rookies rising to my Interest

I'm really starting to like Topps Rising Rookies. If you can't see the players I will name them. Top Row from left to right: DeMarco Murray Cowboys, Mark Ingram Saints, Nick Fairley Lions and Patrick Peterson Cardinals. Second Row: Tyrod Taylor Ravens, Julio Jones Falcons, Ryan Mallet, Patriots and A.J. Green, Bengals. It has the team names and logos on the card so it looks cool. Rookie cards will look cooler when they use their rookie shoot picture where they will be wearing their NFL jerseys.

Teammates? Not Here

This may be one of the funniest cards I have. A dual jersey of Lebron and Dwayne Wade. I got it in a 2010 Upper Deck blaster for just 10 dollars. And now they're on the same team. Wow! They were just in the finals together and once again LeBron failed. And he had help in Miami with Wade and Chris Bosh.

NFL Draft Cards

Here is a card of Cam Newton and Ryan Mallet. Now don't get fooled. Press Pass has been the best college brand for years. But they lost their licence so they can not put the team's logo or name anywhere on the card except the back where it tells about him. The same with Sage. High Series for Sage is like Press Pass but Low Series is even worse. They look like comic cards. Who does have a licence? Upper Deck. Cam Newton is probably a High to mid first round pick. Mallet could go mid first, late first or early second round pick.

Topps Heritage!

Today I went to Target and got Topps Heritage. It has Roy Halladay on the box. I have not opened them yet but they look good! Does not guarante any hit but I assume that there is one. Enjoy March Madness!

The Big Off-season

One of the big names changing their uniform was Carl Crawford. I got a Carl Crawford card today in Topps Opening Day cards. They must have painted the Red Sox jersey on the card because spring training did not start too long ago. Now I need Adrian Gonzalez!

A Real Nice Patch

In a blaster box of Topps 2011 baseball cards (released in late January) they promise you one throwback patch card. There is a pack of 1 card and that is always the patch card. So when I opened it I was thrilled! It was a Chase Utley card, worn by an unknown 1972 Phillies player! WOW!

Earl Clark Jersey Auto

I got this cool card in a jumbo pack of Donruss Basketball. It's pretty cool because it has a home jersey, a ball that he used and an away jersey. It also has an autograph. Earl Clark went to Louisville and was drafted by the Suns, then traded to the Magic.

The Reprint of Honus Wagner

Maybe the toughest card ever to find is Honus Wagner. Now don't get fooled that I got a real Honus Wagner card. It clearly is a reprint. If I got a REAL Honus Wagner card I would sell it and get a ton of money. Beckett Magazine prices a real one at 8,000 dollars.

MJ Vs. Dr.J

Last night I opened Upper Deck basketball cards. On average you get one jersey card. I opened a pack and the jersey card was... a Michael Jordan-Dr.J jersey card! Probably the best card I ever pulled. Unfortunately I was not being taped opening it.

I Mean Really who buys this?!?

I found this Blake Griffin 1/1 on Ebay. If I got this I would sell it too and maybe by a beach house! The Price was: 32,032,032 dollars! WOW! The lowest numberd card I got was a 6/10. Thank goodness it was free shipping! I would only dream about buying this if I was a Clippers fan.

College Cards

I do not own a lot of college cards but I now have some good ones thanks to "2009 Game Breakers" and " Press Pass Legends." LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin and Shonn Greene all are stars in the NFL. B.J Raji is on the Super Bowl winning team the Packers. Matthew Stafford was the first pick in the 2009 Draft. Knowshon Moreno is not bad with the Broncos. Juaquin Iglesias is from Oklahoma. And Tony Dorset is a Hall of Famer.

Halladay No-Hitter

In game 1 of the NLDS Roy Halladay threw a no-hitter against Joey Votto's Reds.

It was just the 2nd ever no-hitter in the post season . Doc gave up just one walk.

Toward the end of the game I got nervous when Votto batted. But Halladay got him out.

I will never forget Halladay's no-hitter because I watched the whole game.

No School = best pack ever!

Another day of ... NO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was no school today so, I went to Target first thing in the morning. I almost decided to just get a single pack, but I got a jumbo pack of 40 Donruss cards . The decision paid of.

In my first pack (20 cards) I got Evan Turner. I have been wanting his card even before he got drafted, because I knew the 76ers would take him. The next 20 were unbelievable! I got Earl Clark from Louisville, John Wall and an Elton Brand jersey card. They only printed 10 of the Elton Brand card and I got the 6th. I also got a Redemption card which is a card with a code on it and you type in the code online and you get somebody. I got an Amare Stoudemire autograph card. The problem is I do not get it until June.

The Big 3

When Basketball cards came out one of my key goals was to get Miami's big 3. Today in Donruss Basketball cards I got Production Line cards of Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. A few days ago I got LeBron. I had already collected the big 3 once in 2010 Panini Threads, so now I have them twice!

Phantastic Phour

I already made a post of the Phantastic Phour, but they were not all in Phillies jerseys. Roy Oswalt was in an Astros jersey. But today I opened something from ebay and it was Roy Oswalt in a Phillies jersey. Collectors might be eyeing the Phantastic Phour once Topps 2011 comes out which is February 16th, especially Cliff Lee who I got by luck last year in the 2010 Topps Complete set. Now that I already have them, I will look for autographs and jersey cards of them.

Today I opened some football cards. I found this Sam Bradford hit card. This is my first Sam Bradford NFL card. But I have a few Oklahoma cards.

I like Sam Bradford because he went to Oklahoma. He won the 2008 Heisman Trophy. He also was the first pick in the NFL Draft in 2010.

He almost led the Rams to the Playoffs as a rookie.

Sam Bradford is my favorite non-Eagles and non-Patriots player.

My First Error Card

A few weeks ago I got this Michael Vick card. It is probably pretty rare because he is in an Eagles uniform. But the main reason is it's an error card. An error card is a mistake on the card. For example, it could say that a batter bats right handed even though he bats left handed. This error is his team name is wrong. It says in 2009 he played for the Vikings. Error cards are rare because once they find out about the mistake they stop printing that card. This is my first error card.

I just blogged about the Cliff Lee Phillies card. But I still had his rookie card to blog about. I got this in Avalon for 75 cents. Now that he is back on the Phillies it's probably worth at least $5. When 2011 Topps baseball cards come out I will be looking for a Cliff Lee jersey card or an autographed card. The release date of Topps baseball cards is January 25th.

Lee + Doc = World Series

Who will win the world series this year? Phillies! No question! Well the Phillies have the #1 pitching staff called "The Phantastic Phour." Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels. Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay have a chance to be the new Mr. Octobers. Weird how I got a Cliff Lee Phillies card when he had not played even a full year with the Phillies and when the year ended they had traded him to the Mariners. When the season started everybody said the Phillies had made a big mistake trading Lee even for a guy like Halladay. But at the end of the season it was right because they would not have Halladay AND Lee.

I believe that the Phillies will win the World Series.

No school today!

Today I went to a card show at a Holiday Inn. There were a lot of different sellers. I bought some nice cards.


Above is a Terrence Williams card, a Thaddeus Young rookie card and a Marcus Camby college card. Terrence Williams went to Lousville, Marcus Camby went to UMass and the Thaddeus Young card is autographed.



Here are jersey cards of Dr.J and Shaq. The Shaq card was just $3! An awesome price for a jersey card.
Here are two Sam Bradford cards and a Rob Gronkowski jersey card. The Gronkowski jersey card also has part of a football on it and the Sam Bradford card in the middle I got for free!


Finally these cards are just Phillies. I got a Chase Utley hat card, a Roy Halladay " Peak Performance" card from his perfect game and Jesse Biddle the Phillies first round draft pick. It was the first ever hat card I ever got. It's a real Chase Utley hat on the card!

I've opened many good packs but this is my is my best pack! It has Andre Iguodala, Shane Battier, Rudy Gay, Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Milsap, Michael Beasley, Tracy McGrady, Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose. Tracy McGrady and Michael Beasley are in there new jerseys. Plus I have a Sixer in Iguodala. Dirk Nowitzki is a " Century Stars" card.

Bowman, Bowman, Bowman

I have been getting luck with Bowman baseball cards. Today I got Mike Stanton. From what I've heard he is really good. Plus, he is on the box. I also got Stephen Strasburg. He already made his mark with his historical debut. He is a Bowman Chrome. ( A more valuable type of card.) It was funny because I opened the Stanton card first then the very next pack I got Strasburg. I was psyched because I almost decided to open football cards instead.

Jersey Cards

No school due to snow = blogging at 10:30 A.M on a Wednesday!

Jersey cards are my favorite cards. They cut off a piece of their game-worn jersey and put it on a card. How cool is that?!? It isn't just one card brand that does them either. I have one of Peyton Manning and Alonzo Mourning.

The Big Game Tonight

Tonight's national championship is 1 Auburn vs. 2 Oregon. Auburn's whole team is QB Cam Newton while Oregon has many good players such as RB LeMichael James. Auburn is favored by just 3 points but look for an upset tonight by Oregon. It's hard to get collage cards so I made my own cards of Cam Newton and LeMichael James made of paper. Be sure to watch Collage GameDay before the game and the National Championship is on at 8:30 on ESPN.
